Does Posthive work with any Lemmy instance?+
Yes. Enter any public Lemmy instance URL (e.g. https://lemmy.world, https://lemmy.ml). The instance must be running Lemmy v0.19+ with a public API.
How does the post title work?+
Lemmy requires a title for every post. Posthive uses the first line of your text as the title (up to 200 characters) and the remaining lines as the post body.
Can I post to multiple communities?+
Yes. Each community you connect becomes a separate account in Posthive. Connect selfhosted@lemmy.world and opensource@beehaw.org as two separate accounts and select both in the composer.
Is my password stored securely?+
Yes. Your Lemmy password is stored AES-256-GCM encrypted in Posthive's database — the same encryption used for all OAuth tokens. It is never logged or transmitted in plain text.
Does Lemmy require API approval?+
No. Lemmy has a fully open API — no developer account, no app registration, no review process. You only need a regular Lemmy user account on any instance.
